The Archives and Research Group for 20th-21st Century Hungarian Music organizes the conference Könnyűzene - könnyű zene? Magyar populáris zene a 20-21. században [Popular Music – Light Music? Hungarian popular music in the 20th and 21st century]. The conference will take place on 31 January and 1 February 2014, at the Bartók hall, Institute of Musicology (Research Center for the Humanities, Hungarian Academy of Sciences), featuring papers inter alia on popular music, jazz, operetta and gypsy music. The conference provides opportunity both for approaches of political, social history and of aesthetics. The conference will be accompanied with a concert and a lecture recital.
