Fritz Trümpi (University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna): Opera history in a political perspective: Vienna and Cluj Bartók terem, 2018. május 10. csütörtök, 10 óra |
Abstract:
This paper includes two sections which are, however, strongly related one with each other. First, it will reflect theoretical, methodical and empirical aspects of a political history of the Viennese Opera (1869-1955); these reflections are based on a recently realized research project (http://www.iwk.ac.at/oper/). Secondly, it is going to show the close relationship between Vienna and Transylvania regarding the organization and implementation of the first Romanian National Opera in Kolozsvár/Klausenburg/Cluj within the newly founded Romanian Kingdom after the breakdown of the Habsburg Monarchy (1919/1920).
